Where the Flowers Bloom reclaims imperfect and incomplete colonial narratives of our natural world, telling stories from local communities and perspectives that are crucial in solving ecological crises.

Artists from the Philippines and the UK tapped into their Southeast Asian roots, working with local scientists as well as researchers from the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. Together, they transformed selected botanical specimens collected from the Philippines and housed in Kew, creating visual pieces that unearth deeper value derived from the culture of their origin and home.
